Mid Night Snack

Sam the little vampire is suffering badly.

Because he is increasingly being harassed by campers in his little forest.

With a heavy heart, he has taken it upon himself to get rid of them inconspicuously.

Water Drop

Once upon a time… there was a small drop of water.

It fell into a dark, eerie well.

But along with its hope, a small, slender vine grew, which wound its way towards the light.

With its help, it set off upwards towards the surface.

Planet of God

Your days were dark, but you were given the opportunity to become a god and prove yourself.

Use your newfound power to send natural disasters across the planet. Wipe out humanity before they turn against you.

Created in the Macromedia Game Jam May 2024, within one week.
Theme: ‘Kill the Planet’

UI / UX & Concept Designs

The main features of the title screen are the striking title and the rotating 3D model of the planet.

The title should convey an outer space/space vibe.

Combined with some elegance as a reference to the gods in the game.

The in-game interface consists of:

4 Mini Game icons on the right

Top left, population, timer

On the left side, population bar

Bottom left, exit button

The interface and the font are very simple, but still space/universe oriented.

The interface is intended to emphasize the 3D model and not obscure it.

The frame of the mini-game interface is based on Tech/SiFi.

The player has the objective „Catch the Comets“ at the top right.

At the bottom center you can move the planet horizontally on the white line.

There is a bar on the right-hand side which shows how many comets (in %) have been caught. (In the picture 10/20 i.e. 50 %)

After the mini-game, the player is informed that they have completed the game.

This is followed by the effects on the game and the score achieved in the mini-game.

In the center is the planet with a simple symbol that represents the mini-game.

The god who talks to the player during the course of the story can be seen on the left.

A small, elongated dialog window can be seen in the lower area, with a small „next“ arrow on the right.

About Me

My name is Julia and I live in Hamburg.

As a game design student, I really enjoy designing UI/UX interfaces.

I got into it by participating in multiple game jams, but also by designing websites and posters in the courses on campus.

I always find it fascinating how much a good UI/UX can achieve.

Our game presented above was created within a week for the Macromedia Game Jam 2024. A nationwide/cross-campus event.

A total of 20 games were submitted, and we took 2nd place. A fabulous result, in my opinion!
